Fall 2011 Fashion Trends

Now, I'm gonna do a review on Fall 2011 Fahion Trends that some of us are very curious about. I did a little bit of researches and I'll tell you what are the fall 2011 must have looks.

1. RED DEVIL
I was literally shocked when I saw that many reds on the runway on this fall season. From Michael Kors to Rodarte and Jason Wu, all added this fresh red colour on their runway. Now, red colour is a bit of a challenge to be on a garment because the outfit has to be modern enough. But, this is a no problem for these great designers.

This outfit from Jason Wu's fall ready-to-wear collection is definitely my favourite look!  It's chic, edgy, and the top has a little bit of a couture sensation with that kind of fabric.

2. The clashing of the pattern!
Apparently, pattern blocking is still a trend on the fall 2011's runway. Who can we blame for all those amazing patterns until we all want to wear them in a one shot. The clashing of the pattern is a fresh look especially for teenager. It's fun, different, creative. Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg and Thakoon were some of the designers who showed us this trend this fall season.

3. Cape, cape, cape
If Singapore is not as hot as it is, I would jump into a car right, drive to the nearest boutique that sells cape and grab them. This is my favourite look of the fall 2011 fashion trends! How the perfect those capes are, are indescribable. DKNY had put a very interesting design as it has a mixture of both cape and coat! How rad is that. Rag & Bone was also rocking the runway with their bohemian cope with fringe galore. Lat but not least, Derek Lam's sporty but sophisticated cloak.

4. Suit youself
Now, suit is not just appropriate for office hour, but also cocktail! I remember the first time I'm totally in love with suit was when I saw it on Daisy Lowe. She combined a wide black trousers with a sloppy black blazer and a white shirt inside it. From then on, boyfriend-office-suit look is a trend, including for this fall 2011 trend. Band Of Outsiders, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger became the attention of the runway because of the suits. In my opinion, any body shapes, skin colour or height can pull off this trend. To make it simpler, maybe we can wear a blazer with a stripes shirt and denim hot pants Erin Wasson's style.

4. Luxury and Fabulous!
Leopard, leather, feather, fur are some of the definitions of luxury and fabulous! J. Mendel, a house famed for their fur, was no longer a surprise that luxury and fabulous is in their list. Joseph Altuzarra added a touch of luxe on their utilitarian separates. Prabal Gurung's pale pink fur was also the hit on the runway.

The whole outfit was something I just picked up and asked my sister to wear them and It actually looks pretty good! Hahahaha. The navy blue jeans vest is from Topshop, bandage skirt is from Topshop as well, Marilyn Monroe blouse is from ITC Mangga Dua in Jakarta and clog heels from Forever 21.

BOLD COLOURS AND STRIPES

Need to say more? I don't think so. It's pretty obvious, people! BOLD COLOUR AND STRIPES! Don't afraid to wear that many stripes and have many colours all over your body! As long as you are confident and can work it out. In my opinion, the white stripes in the outfit make everything look balance. And, I love my turquoise wedges with the whole outfit. It's a perfect amount of colours, brightness, stripes, all-in-one. Hat: Four Skin, Tank-top, Skirt: Topshop, Wedges: Aldo

preppy

Preppy look is really in for this Spring/Fall season. I mix-match the easy-tone-pink colour blouse with a preppy collar, with a high-waisted eclectic shorts. The shorts make a statement in this outfit. It is not simple, nor too matchy matchy. The soft tone in this outfit really gives a sense of school girl kind of type. Both blouse and shorts are from Topshop.

My one and only muse: Nabila Larasati Pranoto. Visit her blog! She is my little-creative-artsy-lunatic-cute-gorgeous sister :) Despite the fact that I don't really feel comfortable being photographed and I don't think I am photogenic enough, so I asked my sister this afternoon to be my part time model. Even tho she was forced, but she finally agreed to do me a favor.

For the whole school girl outfit, I put on a bright pink color and a clog heels from Forever 21. The boldness of the color and the black&brown heels make the whole outfit rather more appealing and different. Usually, people would just wear a flat shoes and other people won't notice how nice the clothes are because the looks are just too simple. And, the brown color in the heels compliment the brown belt.

Abbey Lee Kershaw

I am completely blown away by this blue eyes and angelic face when she changed her hair  to BLONDE! Ever since, she strutted the runways of Elie Saab, Chanel, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney and many more! Who doesn't love that bone structure, cleft chin, rocking body. And, her style is definitely a trend setter. From hippie, to rock to couture, she can wear any clothes she wants and we would want to wear them to!

"this is my time to shine!"

Those words keep popping into my head every time I'm in the court with my mom. But, I can't seem to say it out loud. It's like somehow I've locked my mouth and hid the keys but when I want to open it, I have no idea where is the key. I keep thinking to myself, "you're such a coward! she is right in front of you and she won't know what the hell are you thinking or why are you behaving this way unless you open your mouth!" But, I can't. I just can't

For the past few weeks, I've been occupying myself with playing tennis. Other than I can really use an exercise and I just stopped working reason, I really want to help out with my mom's tennis lesson. Besides, It will be pretty embarrassing if the daughter of one of the best Indonesian tennis player in the 80s can not play tennis. So, I started to brush up my tennis skills and got the hang of it. In my opinion, I'm really good at it. It's hard to admit it tho, but I actually kinda enjoy playing tennis. It's another reason for me to let loose and just forget everything that have been going on. My body, re-taking English O Level this year, money, etc etc.

Anyway, I have this problem with my mom or myself. Almost every thrice a week, my mom would teach me tennis. But, she is not actually "teaching". In fact, she is the one who becomes the nest Maria Sharapova, not me. In the beginning of the lesson, she would ask me to do a mini tennis with her. And then as we get heated up, we would start move back and play "hitting" with one another. While I'm struggling in receiving her shots, she is getting better and better and it goes on for another 2 hours. I mean come on, if I want to play with you, I wouldn't mind but my skills have to be good enough first. How am I supposed to return your balls or beat you if my basic tennis skills still need to be repaired. It's just a waste of time, for me. Your time has passed. Your victory, trophies, all have gone. Now, it's my turn. And, I really want for my mom to be a part of it :( I don't have the guts to tell my mom "I want you to teach me. Slowly". That's all I ask. I know that my mom can teach me better than my other coach, Bryan. She can't beat his ass up in a tournament, hands down! I want to say "I want you to be my coach, my only coach. Not Bryan. But, I want you to really teach me, they way Bryan does. I know that I can be good and I want you to believe it too"

The reality is, I'm just too afraid. Scared of the consequences, the side effects of my action. What if my mom angry at me, what if she doesn't want to teach me tennis again? I would rather suck it up than taking those chances. Fear, fear, fear! Ahh, I hate myself for having that word written all over me. Sometimes, it's better to shut up, than letting someone else gets hurt. Maybe it's for the best to not saying everything I have in mind. I swear to God, I would do anything, anything to make my mom happy. So many disappointments I've given to my mom, and I've made a promise that my O level result would be the last one. But, I know that she is pretty fed up with me every time we play tennis. I don't really show much interest that I wanna play with her. How am I supposed to put a happy smile and be all energetic when I can't seem to get a single hit right because of her super hard balls and her yelling that driving me nuts! If she wants to yell at me to make me better, fine. Encourage me to be better, but it feels like she doesn't trust me that I can be really good. Or is it just my mind that has been playing around with me? Despite all the facts that I always have negative thoughts about my mom, all I want is to be a better daughter.

The Charge of the Light Brigade

Half a league, half a league,
  Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred.
